Question about sky brakes

Hello all, I'm thinking about getting a saturn sky redline and test drove one today. I love the car but for one thing. The car I drove the brakes had to be pumped once before they would bite when the pedal was pressed down. Is this just because its been sitting still for a while or do you always have to build brake pressure before you can use the brakes on a daily basis?

It was just cuz the car was probably cold. The brakes work fine on this car.

To all, If you haven't found out by now:
In 2008 GM eliminated an electric vacuum brake booster for the RED LINE engine. Result- no/poor brakes when you FIRST start the car! They finally made a fix/recall.
