First 500 miles and Road Trip

First 500 miles and road trip from Tulsa to Springfield, Missouri.
Car is everything I expected, it’s a looker and the Red Line kicks butt. Drove Skybaby to work Thursday and Friday I live about 20+ miles one way from work mostly highway. Hardest part was keeping the speed below 70 on the highway, try and break in the car like the owner manual suggest. Friday after work drove back to dealer to pick up paper tag they forgot to give me and as usual heavy traffic, all car's stopped on 3-lane road, had to hit the brakes harder then I wanted but did not lock them up or have that APS pulsate so whew that was close. New car syndrome and trying not to take any chance at least twice impatient car behind me felt that I should of pulled out in traffic had to honk, well when I did pull out oops chirped the tires, it will do that easily. Opps suppose to be breaking in the car.
Quick bath for Skybaby Friday evening and wow that top soaks up more water then a sponge. Take time out to use a hair dryer to try it out and Raggtopp the top. Skybaby looks funny with newspaper taped to windows and across back of trunk to keep the Raggtopp off of the windows and paint. Job done by 10:30 Skybaby tucked in garage full tank of ½ 91 octane and what ever else dealer put in with the first free tank. Saturday morning, hubby gets first drive, Mr. Corvette owner, pulls over at gas station, honey what is the PSI number on the DIC? That’s the turbo boost it will show what the pick up of the turbo is when you get on the car, good he says glad it not the oil pressure at 0. He leaves me and the Impala at the stop light and we met at deli for breakfast, well what do you think? Quote, “it’s still just a 4-cylinder”, with a big grin on his face. On to Springfield, MO just me and my Skybaby, thank goodness the first 50 or so miles of the turnpike is under construction, makes it easy to keep the speed down and vary speed. The rest of the way it’s everyone and there clunker flying by while I drive 60 to 70 without the cruise on. Pull in to meet daughter at McDonald’s and park right up front, the look on her face, grin from ear to ear, Wow Mom what a CAR! We watch people look at my car and visit, so funny to see the Wow on peoples face. While taking her on a drive around neighborhood a young male see's us and he yells at his Dad, "LOOK at the cool car". We are both laughing like dude it’s a convertible we heard you!
Head back home letting every one pass me while varying speeds and keeping it under 70, several times I did cheat and Zip up to 80 to pass a semi and get out of traffic. This time I had several cars pass me and with a big grin on their face and a thumb up! This is wild while driving took the DIC off of the boost turbo rolled it over to OD to see if it was close to 500, it was right at 500 had to watch it roll over to 501. Leaving the last travel stop out of Joplin with about 540 miles on the OD lets really roll, set the cruise on 75 and passed all the clunkers, Wahoo! Car is a nice ride not as smooth as my impala but not as rough as the vette. When you need to pass step on the gas the turbo kicks in and Zoom smell my exhaust. Yes I am getting the carbon build up on the exhaust, I expected that to happen.
Now for the not so good, Skybaby has developed the funny noise that sounds like a low pitch sick weed eater when going slow between 1st and 3rd if you put in the clutch is goes away, once you in 4th it goes away. The clutch has started that slight vibration when shifting, not all the time just some times. From what I have read this seems to be common, just need to look for a diff leak when it happens. Dealer suggested Friday "I" may want to put the Amsoil in the diff, Gave him the, Well gee its kind of up to "YOU" huh, I can bring it in and you add the additive now or you can fix it later! He gave me the Dear in the head light look, like I want to PAY to have them add the additive, yea I know they have to have the official service bulletin. I also hear the reflash for the turbo is out to keep it from running too rich, make plans to get Skybaby into the dealer for a little fix up now that she is broke in.

I have a '00 Mustang GT convert that I have used RaggTopp cleaner and protectant on a number of times. I never masked off any of the glass or paint and haven't had any problems. Of course, I only use it prior to claying and waxing just in case.
The first time I used it I too was concerned so I understand how you feel.
